Porn Kills Love

Over the years I have had many friends who have struggled with pornography addictions, and I have seen many, many marriages fail because of it. Pornography isn't always the sole reason divorce happens, but without fail it has in some way contributed to every failed marriage that I know of.

The very first date I went on with Joseph, (my now-husband) one of the first things I asked him was if he struggled with pornography. (Yes, I'm surprised he didn't run away too, haha.) After going through all of the junk that I had been through in previous relationships, there was NO way I wasn't going to know everything, upfront, immediately about who I was on a date with.

Let me tell you, I am so grateful every day to have a husband who is as virtuous and as honest as he is when it comes to that stuff. (Yes women, - and men - there are people out there who truly have no problem with pornography!)

This past weekend we decided to support Fight The New Drug's efforts in bringing awareness to this addiction. And believe it or not, we brought awareness to the most post pornographic place I know of.

Sin City.

The looks we received as we walked the strip were of confusion, some anger, certainly some shame and shock... and some eyes looked almost appreciative. Maybe hopeful. Maybe, just maybe, our message felt right to them.

My point is: there is hope.
No matter the addiction.
No matter the gender.
No matter the severity.
There is hope.
Christ's grace is waiting.
His grace is waiting to heal you.
HE is waiting to heal you.
He has felt the pain you are feeling.
He has felt the hopelessness, and the doubt, and the shame.
But above all He loves you.
And He is waiting for you to turn to Him.
